PUPS-Arasur - தமிழ்நாடு (Tamil Nadu)
About Us
Government primary schools in Tamil Nadu play a vital role in providing free and quality education to children, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The state government operates these schools, ensuring that children aged 6 to 14 years receive compulsory education as mandated by the Right to Education Act, 2009. Tamil Nadu has made significant progress in expanding access to education, with government primary schools established in nearly every village and town to facilitate easy access for children.
The curriculum in these schools is designed according to the guidelines set by the Tamil Nadu State Board, and it emphasizes holistic development, covering subjects like Tamil, English, Mathematics, Environmental Science, and Social Science. The medium of instruction is typically Tamil, though some schools also offer English-medium education. Teachers in government primary schools are qualified and receive regular training to improve their teaching methods, ensuring that they can cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
